Prized for its own appearance and low maintenance requirements, artificial turf such as AstroTurf is widely used on sports fields as well as other high-traffic places where green grass is desired year. The usefulness and attractive appearance of the majority of artificial turf lasts roughly five to 20 decades. Several factors affect its longevity, however, including the use and routine maintenance it receives.
Longevity and Use
Huge regions having high-impact use such as football fields and golf greens have to have their artificial turf replaced every five to ten years to maintain the integrity of this surface and its shock-absorbing properties. Home lawns or yards with synthetic turf last slightly longer and require replacing every 15 to 20 decades.
Factors Affecting Longevity
Artificial turf absorbs a high amount of heat, which may hasten the breakdown in the fibers over a lengthy time period. Moreover, the fibers trap animal feces, chemical agents and other unhygienic or corrosive chemicals that will render it unsuitable or unsafe for use. Routine rinsing will lower the temperature of synthetic turf on a hot afternoon and help remove unhealthy chemicals, while occasional raking will remove unwanted leaves or other debris.
