Lumber group
applies for accreditation

The Composite Lumber Manufacturers Association applied in February to be a standards developer guided by and ac-

credited by the American National Standards Institute, an internationally recognized consensus standards organization. This application is currently being reviewed by ANSI and available for public comment. By becoming a standards developer, CLMA will have the flexibility to develop test method and product performance standards for the industry.

CLMA has a Codes and Standards Committee which participated in the State of California Wildland Urban Interface regulation hearings; represented the membership with the ICC-ES regarding accep-

tance criteria (AC-174) for composite lumber products; participated in the ASTM Committee drafting of fire performance standards for composite lumber and many other industry issues.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., CLMA is the North American trade association that represents the composite lumber industry’s manufacturing companies and their material suppliers.
